Summer Reading Series Giveaway: Going Lactose-Free, Dairy-Free, or Vegan …
This week’s books combine knowledge and food for two informational reads and of course, some delicious recipes to boot.
The first is a fun one, Planet Lactose: The best of the blog is a neatly organized collection of featured posts from lactose intolerance guru, Steve Carper. The bits and bites (almost like reading a series of newspaper and magazine clippings) are sorted into the following chapters: Lactose Intolerance, For the Vegans, Probiotics, Dairy and Other Allergies, Babies: Formula and Feeding Issues, Food and Nutrition, Dairy and Nondairy Milks, A Hungry Person’s Collection of Cookbooks, Genetics, Product Reports, Animal Planet, and Miscellany and the Just Plain Weird.
The second, Go Dairy Free: The Guide and Cookbook (you might recognize this one?) is half information, half recipe, substitutes and more. Whether you are dairy-free, wanting to cut back a bit, or simply interested in the diet, I think you will find it a good read and a good baseline for recipes. It is vegan-friendly (egg-free and meat-free options for all!). I know some of you are already Go Dairy Free owners, but I won’t fault you if you want to win a copy to give as a gift.
I was just going to giveaway Planet Lactose this week, but thought I would throw in a copy of Go Dairy Free since I was feeling extra generous and the two books go together well as (dare I say) *must* reads for anyone who is dairy-free.
Enter to win these books NOW:
1st Entry – Comment and answer the following: Do you follow any type of free-from diet?
2nd Entry – Become a fan of Go Dairy Free on Facebook (or in other words ‘Like’ it), and leave a comment here letting me know you did (or that you already are a fan!).
3rd Entry – For another chance to win, share this giveaway via facebook, twitter, or your blog, and leave a second comment here letting me know that you did.

The Summer Book Series Giveaways will go on every week in July & August, so stay tuned!

I’m dairy-free…. plus low fat and low GI for my IBS.
Already a fan on facebook!
We are dairy, potato, peanut, egg, corn, and apple free. and would love new recipes to try.
We are just starting dairy, egg, tomato & wheat-free due to allergies. Plus trying to keep it low-nut due to a son who is still not yet 1 year old.
I’m gluten free and dairy free. I’m also mostly soy-free, though I do use gluten free tamari and occasionally some miso.
We’re vegans… dairy-free, egg-free, and meat-free. I would love to get to the point of being gluten-free and soy-free as well though! 🙂
Just became a Facebook fan!
I’m dairy free and I love your recipes!
Am trying to go dairy free, but I love cheese! I need to find non-soy substitutes that aren’t so expensive, because I have a large family (8) and buying alternatives gets prohibitive.

Great Giveaway!
I am meat, poultry, and pork free (only occasional fish)…and about 85% dairy-free. I don’t buy anything dairy except my hubbys occasional cheese he wont give up (I do goats occasionally, trying to switch him to goats mozz for his homemade pizza)

I’m vegan, so I am free-of- all animal products. My diet is also free of water chestnuts (because I hate them with a passion!).
I’m vegan, so my diet is free from animal products.
Hi again! I am a Lactose/Meat-Intolerant Vegetarian and near-vegan. I try to eat as much raw as possible, but have a carnivore husband who isn’t quite on board with complete vegetarianism. I would LOVE a copy of your book, Go Dairy Free, as I need some great recipes to pack my 1st grader’s lunches with (he is also lactose intolerant). Thanks!

I was dairy, soy, egg and beef free for the 2+ years that I nursed my son. He still doesn’t eat any of those and I eat them sparingly. I don’t think it’s really fair to have him watch me stuff my face with things he can’t eat, besides, it turns out dairy and soy aren’t that great for me anyway and beef isn’t really good for anyone.
I am already on facebook.
I’m shellfish free! I often eat vegan or vegetarian as well but don’t have to.
I’m already vegan, but the past month I’ve been refined-sugar-free. Feels AMAZING!
I’m a vegetarian (meat free) and mostly vegan (90% dairy/egg free).
Oh! And I’m a fan on Facebook 🙂
im a vegan… so all animal product free!
I’m definitely dabbling in veganism, so this would be perfect!!
what’s up alisa! i would be stoked to get my hands on your book!
i have been a super-strict vegetarian since i was fourteen: no fish, meat, fish/animal stocks or sauces, gelatin, carmine. basically, nothing dead- which somehow confuses people! like, hey, so you eat chicken right? NO! i do eat eggs when i know the chickens that lay them, and dairy if it’s organic. i really want to try a wheat-free adventure… but i looove baking as you know!
oh yes, and i just ‘liked’ on facebook when you featured my blog a few days ago! thanks again for that! and i will post on my blog for you!
Hi. I am dairy free and meat free, and also trying to be processed foods and sugar free as well. I could really use a copy your book because I think it would help me get some of my family members on board with me. They eat everything! Sorry, I don’t do facebook or twitter, but your site is chock full of great information. Thank you
I’m free from meat, dairy, eggs and animal cruelty 😉 ! meaning I’m a proud VEGAN! 🙂
I am allergic to dairy and I would love to get my family to do the same. I love this website!
