Prioritizing Organics for the Budget-Minded

Posted by on October 25, 2007 | 4 Comments

I really enjoyed reading and writing on this topic this week, so thought I would let people know it is up on Go Dairy Free – “Surprising Foods to Ease Your Budget Into Organics.” – It adds in a few foods/concepts that I had not considered before in my own shopping.  Just in case I am slow about posting here, and you are looking for something to read on that lunchtime break, Go Dairy Free is updated every day, religiously.

Glad you liked it! Yes, the ketchup one threw me at first, but really it all made sense. This week we have been looking at what foods we eat most in our house to see if they warrant switching to organic.

Your site has such great information! Thank you for doing such a great thing. I found the potatoes to be pretty interesting on that list, as well as the ketchup. I did not even think about them needing to be organic since they are grown underground! We have been talking about the “organic” subject a lot lately too! I think there are quite a few things we need to change!

Thanks Sarena! Yeah, we added potatoes to our organic list this year (Trader Joe’s sells organic sweet potatoes and potatoes by the bag at an affordable daily price). I even eat the skins and had no idea either! Thanks to this article I just added oats to our organic list (bulk of course). Mainly because we eat a lot of them, and they are only about .15-.20 more than regular per pound. something I hadn’t thought about.
